17 Aug Latest Tourism Numbers Show Continued Growth for Nova Scotia

Your Liberal Government is proud of the fact our tourism industry continues to thrive. New numbers show our province had an 11 per cent increase in non-resident, overnight visitors in June. This is the fourth straight year tourism numbers have risen over the month of June.
23,000 more people visited Nova Scotia this June compared to last year. This increased number of visitors proves your Liberal government’s tourism strategy is working, and we couldn’t be happier to witness the growing success of such an important industry.
People visiting by plane increased by 18 per cent, and people visiting by car rose 8 per cent. The approximate estimate of tourism revenues for the year is at $972 million, compared to 2016 where Nova Scotia generated $929 million.
We’re encouraged by the rising number of visitors to our beautiful province and your Liberal government is committed to continuing to improve our famous tourist destinations. In turn, providing more jobs for the middle class and generating more revenue.
